The William Olson Travel Fund is an endowment created and controlled by the Varsity Men's Glee Club and managed by the University of Illinois Foundation. This fund honors our late director, William Olson, by one day ensuring that we will always be able to spread our music and the greatness of this University throughout the world. The William Olson Travel Fund has reached its principal goal of $100,000. As a result, the interest from this principal amount is now available to the VMGC for authorized travel. This will include extended domestic as well as international travel. The VMGC director, officers, and members of the VMGC alumni board will give authorization for the spending of this interest. Our goal would not have been achieved without the help and contribution by our numerous donors who have graciously donated to The William Olson Travel Fund. Although our goal has been reached, you can still help out. By giving, you will help the VMGC continue its legacy of spreading music not only throughout the University of Illinois community, but also throughout the United States and the world. Your name will become a permanent part of the VMGC's rich legacy.
A list of donors as of Spring 2009 is available here.
