Why Would You Ever...?
So, why make a blog? Well, since its coinage in 1997, the "weblog" format of open source communication has been used by every demographic and for a variety of purposes. From its earliest uses for personal blogging, the blog has taken on an entirely new form and purpose as of late. Today, corporate websites have opted for the blog as a means of keeping their clients/customers up to date with interesting and floor-hitting news. Wedding photographers have begun to move their portfolios and business operations to the blog, and the youth are still using it to communicate their "Top 10 Favorite Things...Ever" responses and opinions on how life just so unfair.
To answer the earlier proposed question, "Why a blog?" (in case you've forgotten), VMGC has utilized this opportunity to go beyond the letter & stamp to communicate on a more personal level by building a stronger relationship with our friends, family, supporters, and alumni in a more effective/efficient manner than ever before. For our upcoming years, and more specifically, our upcoming European Tours, we will be utilizing both visual and aural communications in the form of photographs, recordings (video/audio), interviews, personal entries, and more. I won't even start on YouTube, but with the continual evolution of technology, people can get their fix of milk chugging contests to pirated TV shows. The resourcefulness of mankind never ceases to amaze me. As a result, we hope to bring you both informative and entertaining material that'll keep you checking regularly. Will Dr. Coleman remember David "Dan" Lello's real name? Will Bill Nesnidal ever stop hissing upon my entering into choir? Will Colin ever learn to say, "Out and About"? Will Wyatt Farris ever pay his membership dues???
All of these questions and more will be answered through this blog, so please come back regularly or subscribe for an RSS feed. Either way, I won't be offended :)
I hope you've enjoyed this rather long introduction. Yes, it was necessary.
